"I can't wait to be touring in Europe and to meet many of the fans that have contacted me online and a whole pile of new ones. Connecting with the fans is what it is all about for me, so I will keep my suitcases ready to go," he elaborates with his signature smile.
An introductory first single “Outta Sight Outta Mind” will be sent in advance to country radio stations in Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium, Austria, The Netherlands and England by the end of April. The album “Hold On Tight” will be available in stores and for download in the second half of 2011 and will eventually be released to all 39 countries covered by this deal.

Kevin Chase signs with Interscope Universal U.S.

On the eve of the American Thanksgiving weekend, New Brunswick recording artist Kevin Chase has been signed to the U.S. division of Interscope Universal.
“I am very excited to be part of the Universal family,” says Chase, “and even more excited to be making some inroads into the American market.”
Responses to Kevin Chase’s new album “Round 3” from international industry professionals have been very positive from the start. The public also responded very well to the new songs. After 3 albums, a couple of Canadian Top 40 hits, national tours and TV appearances, becoming a Universal recording artist is another notch in Kevin Chase’s belt on the road to success, but he knows that it is simply another beginning. “The real work starts now,” he says. “This deal will open some new doors for me, that’s for sure. But it is hard work, determination and delivering the goods that will get me to go further. I am ready for the challenge.”

Kevin Chase releases new album on back of 31 days at #1 on My Space Charts

New Brunswick, Canada: New Country Recording Artist Kevin Chase is releasing his highly anticipated new album Round 3 this week. Round 3 is the follow-up to Chase’s previous releases Another Road (2002) and I Won’t Fall (2006), which earned the singer/songwriter a couple of Canadian Top 40 hits, award nominations, and cross country tours.

“I know it’s been a long time since I put out new material,” says Chase. “We were hoping to get this one done much sooner but ended up taking 15 months to complete it.” The new album was recorded at Atlantica Studios in Saint John, NB and was produced by Chase, Marc Gosselin, and Jim Kuehnel. “We really worked very hard and many long hours to look at every detail to provide a collection of songs that would stand up to international scrutiny. This is my third kick at the can, and I wanted to deliver a knock-out punch,” he says with a chuckle. “That is also where the title comes in.”

In the very early stages, it appears like the strategy is paying off. Ever since word of the upcoming release broke on the internet, Kevin Chase fans and the curious have been flocking to the artist’s My Space page by the thousands to listen to excerpts from the new album in such great numbers that Chase has been clinching the Number 1 spot on the Canadian My Space charts in the Indie Country and Overall Country categories for the past 31 days. He has also had the Top 4 song spots in both categories for the last month. Through the power of the internet, word spread beyond the Canadian borders allowing Chase to chart well on the international My Space charts for the past month. With several peaks at #9 in the Global Indie Country Top 20 and peaking at #51 on the Global Overall Country Top 100, ahead of an impressive list of major label country stars, demand for Kevin Chase’s music has been strong prior to release of the album.

Chase seems a bit surprised. “I didn’t really expect for people to jump on the band wagon this quickly because it had been such a long time since my last album, but I guess it is proof that the power of the people should never be questioned.” He believes that the initial My Space success is only a first step in what needs to happen to move his career forward. “It is certainly nice to see such a great initial response to the new songs, but let’s see what happens when Round 3 actually comes out.”

Don’t expect to find Chase’s new album as a CD at your neighbourhood retailer though because Round 3 is a 100 percent digital release. You can find it at digital retailers such as iTunes and Amazon.com and on digital download cards. “We paid close attention to the latest trends in the industry,” says Chase. Only 20 percent of all legally purchased music is bought in the form of CDs, with download cards becoming embraced by the major labels as well. Sony/BMG announced last month that they will be phasing out physical CDs in favour of download cards by next year.

“I am very excited about the download cards,” says Chase. “People are looking for a souvenir at the live shows to take home and the cards are pretty cool. For me as an artist, they also provide a lot of flexibility, as I can provide additional content for the fans to download anytime in the future.”

Consumers go to a specific web address and type in a unique code from the back of the card to unlock the downloads. “Fans can return to the site in the future to download additional content. We haven’t made any specific plans yet as to what this will be, but it could be a new song or exclusive photographs,” says Chase. “It gives me a great opportunity to connect with my fans and give them some extras.”

For the time being, fans can check out all 14 songs from Round 3 on the artist’s website (www.KevinChase.ca), where they can also download the album’s artwork and watch videos.

“I am very happy with the collection of songs,” says Chase. The new material is a little edgier than the first two CDs and has been described by one Canadian radio programmer as “sounding like Keith Urban, only better”. The new material is also gathering a lot of interest from international industry people. “We have had a lot of positive comments in the US and Europe,” says Chase, “and we are talking to some labels. We will see where that leads us.”

For now, Kevin Chase is happy to finally present his new collection of songs. “It has been a long haul,” he says. “I can’t wait for people to hear all of it, and I am even more excited to be playing live again.”

Kevin Chase will get the chance, when he will headline the Canada Day Celebrations in Saint John, NB this Thursday on the Boardwalk at Market Square. “It is the perfect setting to celebrate our country along with the release of the new album and play all the new material for everybody in the crowd,” says Chase. “I can’t wait.”

Video Shoot Update/Clarification

January 22, 2010

We have received a number of inquiries about the upcoming live concert video shoot at the Blue Olive in Saint John, NB on February 19th and would like to make the following clarification:

The video shoot is NOT the official launch of Kevin Chase's new album "Round 3".

However, it is the first time that Kevin and his new band with special guest star Kenny Greer (Tom Cochrane & Red Rider and The Roadhammers) will be performing all of the material from Round 3 live, along with favorites from the first 2 CDs. A special meet and greet is scheduled for immediately after the show, so you can tell Kevin personally what you think of the new material and the new band. This show presents a rare opportunity for fans to witness the debut of the "new" Kevin Chase and his new band. Since the video will be seen around the globe, we are looking for the home Province fans to be well represented. Jessica Darrah will open the show. Limited reserved seating tickets are available for 15 bucks by calling the Blue Olive, 506.634.3183. Tickets are moving steadily. Get yours today !

The official Round 3 launch will take place this spring and details will be announced on Kevin's newsfeed as soon as they are available.

Studio Update

January 6, 2010

We finished the lead vocals for the album. Yippeehh ! It took a little longer, since Kevin had been suffering from the cold that wouldn't go away. He was feeling much better today and was able to finish off the last song. This coming weekend, more work on the background vocals, but we are getting very close to being done.

Rehearsals for the February 19th live concert video shoot are also starting now. It's going to be a fantastic year !

October 31 Studio Update

October 31, 2009

Happy Halloween to all !
We've been busy in the studio and it's all coming along great. I am very excited to have Kenny Greer (Tom Cochrane & Red Rider and The Roadhammers) play on the album. Kenny laid down some killer pedal steel tracks - thanks Kenny.
Steve Hill also dropped by to lay down harmonica on "Lonesome, On'ry And Mean" - I can't wait for you guys to hear this version. Let's just say it smokes....

Graeme McCausland laid down all the keyboards and I'm just about ready to do the lead vocals. After that, it'll be backing vocals and we should be ready to mix.
We're also coming up with some great ideas for the cover and will be doing some photo shoots over the next few weeks. The cover will be departure from what you have seen on the last two discs and I think you are going to like it.

I am very happy with the way it's all coming together and it won't be long, before we'll have some teasers up on this site, which is also getting a complete overhaul to compliment the new album.
I appreciate you guys all hanging in there and waiting for the new songs - trust me, it's worth the wait. More updates soon.

Finally! We are ready for overdubs.

We added 3 more smokin' new songs on Friday and I can't wait to perform them live for you. This album will be a completely fresh new sound from what you have heard from me in the past.

See you at Broadleaf on Aug 1st!
